Wide receiver Plaxico Burress will be looking for a new NFL team to play for once the league gets back to regular football operations and ends the now nearly four month work stoppage.
Burress isn’t sitting around waiting for something to happen though, he has gotten back to work at IMG Academies under the tutelage of Pete Bommarito, founder of Bommarito Performance Systems.
Bommarito has gained legions of followers under his system that “combines all of the most educated and successful specialists in every aspect of performance, general fitness, nutritional, and medical fields”
.
He has worked with a laundry list of the NFL’s elite talent including Maurice Jones-Drew, Andre Johnson, Eli Manning and Vernon Davis among others.
Saints right guard Jahri Evans and linebacker Stanley Arnoux have both trained under Bommarito. Even former corner back Mike McKenzie and former safety Sammy Knight were members.
Early reports are that Burress look good during the workouts, maybe better than most thought he would after being out of football for over two years while completing his prison term.
In four seasons with the Giants Burress had 214 receptions for 3,681 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns. His talent level is undeniable and sheer size, standing 6-5, makes him a nearly uncoverable target. He can beat zone coverage and more easily man coverage, Burress cannot be pressed at the line of scrimmage – ask former Packer corner Al Harris.
