Smith cleared to join Tigers
Missouri spokesman Chad Moller confirmed that freshman defensive end Aldon Smith has gained clearance by the NCAA and is expected to join practices on Wednesday. Smith, a newcomer from Raytown, is one of three incoming freshmen who's been awaiting word from the NCAA Clearinghouse regarding his academic eligibility.
After Tuesday's morning practice, MU Coach Gary Pinkel said he was confident all three players, tailback Drew Temple and wide receiver Rolandis Woodland are the others, would eventually be cleared to join the team.
