Julio Jones Would be Great Pickup for Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins have a lot of issues to address through the draft, and there is a good amount of talent on the board for when they draft. They would be fine with grabbing Robert Quinn as a playmaking DE/OLB despite missing a year, for example.
They could likely draft a quarterback when the tenth overall pick as well, even though there won't be any quarterbacks available there worthy of the pick, and they will have reached for one.
In reality, there's one pick that makes perfect sense, and it's a player that should fall right to them. That player is Julio Jones of Alabama, who is the top of the wide receiver class alongside A.J. Green, and a few out there think Jones is even better than Green.
The Redskins need an elite receiver to throw the ball to in 2011. Santana Moss played well and quietly has one of the best seasons of his career in 2010, but he'll be 32 when the season starts and can't go forever.
Anthony Armstrong has emerged as a decent second wide receiver, but the Redskins need that playmaker that the quarterback, whoever that may be, can throw to. Having a tandem of Chris Cooley, Julio Jones, Anthony Armstrong, and Santana Moss should make for a great team.
