Chase Daniel Bio in 2007
Chase Daniel Biography - Missouri Tigers Chase Daniel BiographyChase Daniel was one of the nation's most exciting signal callers who will be looked upon for big things after producing a record-setting 2006 campaign in his first year as a starter at the collegiate level ... Chase Daniel was a 2nd-Team All-Big 12 selection a year ago by league coaches who could enter the 2007 season as a pre-season favorite for 1st-Team all-league honors ... Chase Daniel owns the best career QB rating in MU history, at 139.40 entering the 2007 season, as well as numerous single-game and single-season passing and total offense records ... Does the majority of his damage in the air, but is also able to hurt defenses with his feet, as he ran for nearly 400 yards and went for 4 TDs a year ago in MU's attacking spread offense ... Chase Daniel has a fearless mentality that translates well into the intangible category of leadership, and also possesses a great knowledge of the game, to go along with his considerable athletic skills.

Chase Daniel Bio in 2006
First-year starter who had the unenviable task of replacing legendary record-setting QB Brad Smith, and promptly attained legendary status of his own, setting numerous passing records on his own, and helped lead the Tigers to 8 regular-season wins for just the 10th time in school history ... Chase Daniel shattered MU single-season records for passing yards (3,527 - old mark was 2,436 by Jeff Handy in 1992), and passing TDs (28 - old mark was 18 by Terry McMillan in 1969), among many other records ... Chase Daniel also broke Smith's season record for TDs responsible for, with 32, and total offense, with a record 3,906 yards of offense - his per-game average of 300.5 ranked 5th in the NCAA, the highest a Tiger has rated in that category since Bob Steuber was 3rd in the nation in total offense in 1942 ... Chase Daniel named 2nd-Team All-Big 12 quarterback by league coaches, and twice won the Big 12's weekly offensive player of the week, after huge outings in the regular season opener against Murray State (320 yards, MU game-record 5 TDs), and in the regular-season finale against Kansas (356 yards, 4 TDs) ... Chase Daniel is also an outstanding student who was named 1st-Team Academic All-District by ESPN The Magazine and 1st-Team Academic All-Big 12 ... Season pass efficiency rating of 145.06 ranked 22nd in the NCAA, and was the 2nd-best in MU single season history (154.3 by Phil Johnson in 1990 is the record), and his career mark of 139.40 is currently the best in MU history ... Chase Daniel had 11 200-yard passing games on the year, which broke the old mark of 8 held by Kent Kiefer in 1990 ... Chase Daniel closed the season in prolific fashion, as he threw for 996 yards, 7 TDs, zero INTs and had a QB rating of 160.15 in the last 3 games (Iowa State, Kansas, Oregon State) ... Chase Daniel was dynamic in MU's heartbreaking bowl loss to Oregon State, as he threw for an MU bowl-record 330 yards and 2 TDs on just 16 completions (an eye-popping 20.6 yards per completion) ... Closed the regular season by dissecting the Kansas defense for a career-high 356 passing yards and 4 TDs on 26-of-38 passing, including a career-long 74-yarder to WR Jared Perry ... Chase Daniel also had a 76-yard TD pass called back on a silly personal foul penalty that took place 20 yards behind the play ... Chase Daniel made quite a splash in his first career start, as he tossed a school record 5 TD passes against Murray State in the opener, including his first career 300-yard passing day (320 yards) ... Chase Daniel had a big day, in leading MU to a win over Ole Miss in game #2, as he registered 332 yards of total offense, including 243 passing yards (1 TD) and a career-high 89 rushing yards (1 TD) ... Chase Daniel accumulated 300 yards of offense in 8-of-13 games on the season, including a career-best 395 against Kansas ... Chase Daniel tossed 4 TDs in his Big 12-opener against Colorado ... The Kansas game was the 4th game he had at least 4 TD passes, (was already the first player in MU history to throw for 4 TDs in a game more than once) ... Threw for at least 250 yards in 10-of-13 games ... Chase Daniel was held without a TD pass for the only time against Oklahoma ... Was also the team's No. 2 rusher with 379 yards and 4 rushing TDs, with his 4th coming against Oklahoma, as he ran for 75 yards on a career-high 20 carries ... Chase Daniel threw for 310 yards against Iowa State, and scored what would have been the game-winning TD on a keeper on 4th-and-goal from the 1-yardline with just 25 seconds left, but the TD was taken away by a holding call that the Big 12 Conference later confirmed was an incorrect call.

Chase Daniel Bio in 2005
The 2004 EA Sports National High School Player of the Year who won the backup job in fall camp, despite his true freshman status ... Chase Daniel saw action in 10 games, as Tiger coaches tried to give him a series or two in most games to prepare him for the future ... Completed nearly 60% of his passes, going 38-of-66 for 347 yards and 1 TD, with 2 INTs ... Chase Daniel also rushed 39 times for 57 yards and 1 TD ... Did more than just prepare for next season against Iowa State, as he relieved an injured Brad Smith in the 4th quarter of the Iowa State game, and rallied Mizzou from a 10-point deficit with just 8 minutes left, as the Tigers won in overtime, 27-24 ... Chase Daniel entered the ISU game on a 3rd-and-10 situation on his own 25 yardline with just under 9 minutes left in the game, and MU trailing, 24-14 ... Calmly hit WR Brad Ekwerekwu for 13 yards to keep the drive alive, and later connected with fellow true freshman TE Chase Coffman for 25 yards on a 4th-and-7 to keep the chains moving ... Chase Daniel led Tigers to a FG on that drive, and after a defensive stop, led MU on an 11-play, 87-yard drive for the tying score that came on a 4-yard TD pass to WR Sean Coffey with just 20 seconds left ... In OT, after ISU missed a long FG try, Chase Daniel guided the Tigers down to the 9-yardline, and the winning Adam Crossett field goal ... Ended the game 16-of-23 passing for 185 yards and the 1 TD ... Chase Daniel saw action in 2 series in the bowl game against South Carolina, and converted on a 4th down keeper in the 3rd quarter to help keep a long MU drive alive ... Played in every game except against New Mexico and Baylor ... Chase Daniel scored the 1st TD of his collegiate career in game #3 against Troy, on a 1-yard plunge in the 4th quarter.
