Vikings RB Peterson’s Status for Sunday in Doubt with Ankle Sprain
While the Vikings are still a team fighting to get back in the playoff race, they did get some good news after an MRI on Adrian Peterson’s right ankle. 1500 ESPN reports that the MRI showed only a sprain, and his status for the Bills game Sunday in up in the air.
“We don’t think it’s any more than an ankle sprain,” Interim coach Leslie Frazier said during an interview with the “Reusse & Mackey” show on 1500 ESPN Twin Cities. “Now it’s just a matter of what he can or can’t do.”
Peterson got hurt Sunday in Washington after Redskins linebacker Lorenzo Alexander tackled him on a running play. He limped off the field and didn’t return.
Frazier had been vague about Peterson’s status during his Monday media conference, saying the evaluation process was ongoing. It’s assumed Peterson will be limited if he participates at all when practice resumes on Wednesday.
“We’ll know a little more (Wednesday) as he tries to put some weight on it and move around,” Frazier said. “We’re anxious to find out how he comes along.”
